Nauko volunteered with us for over three years. She and a bunch of Japanese ladies use to come twice a week to work with the creche children.
Nauko became a true friend and somehow pwhy touched her in a special way.
We do keep in touch but I must confess I miss her smile!

clarisse - very special special educator
Clarisse was our first long time volunteer. She came to us thanks to Enfances Indiennes. A special educator she spent her stint with us helping our team work out a proper schedule for each and every child.
Though she did not speak English she established a great rapport with children, staff and surprisingly parent walking into every one's heat with her sunny Coucou!
She is back in France and mommy to lovely Romain.

jonas - the long tall fellow
Jonas came to us through AISSEC. A very proper young man Jonas immedtalely endeared himslef to one and all. It was time when we were trying to find sustainable options fro project why and Jonas joined the mad rush. From oil to soaps, from bags to more bags, from packaging to marketing he did it all.
We miss him and sadly have lost touch

Taylor - of hope and joy
Taylor a young student from the US, he spent a day every week with the babies of the creche. it is for taylor that our little twins smiled the very first time and it is for him that they walked. it was lovely to see a young boy so gentle and tender with the children. he has left a little of himself in every one of us.

Maya - doctor in the making
At an age when young girls spend summer holidays sunbathing or dancing, Maya decided to come and be with us at Project WHY despite the scorching summer. Her smile and lovely disposition made her a favourite of all. Maya has now joined medical school. We at Project WHY know she will make a great doctor!
Sophie - she saved a child
A nurse by profession, Sophie has helped us with all our small medical problems. Thanks to her we were able to avoid Utpal, a third degree burnt toddler, having to visit a far away government hospital for his dressings. Utpal not only bounced back, thanks to Sophie's love and care, but is today a strapping 6 year lf in boarding school
stone - out of Africa
Stone, a young law student from Uganda, came to the Project in November 2000 and left us in December 2002. Initially a teacher, Stone became an inherent part of the project and the community. From tending to Manu and washing his soiled linen, to feeding a young mother who had delivered a child, from caring for an old sick woman to dealing with an alcoholic man who had just beaten his wife, Stone was always there. His high voltage energy could be felt in all the activities he spearheaded. When he left the whole street cried. Today some children do not want to come to class till Stone sir comes back. Stone has gone back to Uganda where he works on an Aids programme. We wish him luck!
Nolwenn - from the very beginning
Nolwenn was with Project WHY from the very beginning. She participated in every activity with passion and concern. She was part of the Children Centre from its very inception and tendered to its beginnings with great care. She loved the children and believed in them. Nolwenn left us to get married and lives in Delhi with her husband Danny. She will always remain a part of Project WHY. We wish her happiness and peace.
